I have to admit, photographing and experiencing these products for myself was the ultimate way to get in touch with my often distant feminine side. Annie Brown is the owner of this incredible brand of health, beauty, and relaxation products–NaturalAnnie Essentials (www.naturalannieessentials.com). Just shopping her site gave me an immediate rush of adrenaline, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of the lavender scented goodies. If you know me at all, you know I’m obsessed with lavender after all.
Behind the scenes: making the images
For this brand photography shoot, I started the shoot the way I would a portrait session–I got to know my subjects. The delivery packaging, individual product packaging, and finally the products themselves are all part of the overall brand I was photographing. So it was crucial to convey how that brand feels to its market. This one is ultra fun and feminine, a bit tropical, and bright. The scents and color palettes are both sweet and earthy, and I did my best to show exactly that.
In addition to tailoring to the NaturalAnnie Essentials brand, I brought the products back to the basics by photographing them on both isolated and modern stylized backdrops.
